Born in 1974, the second son of Gianni Zonin, a Knight of the Order of Merit and president of the wine firm of the same name in Gambellara, Vicenza. He studied at the P. Lioy science academy in Vicenza, his city of birth, and then, at 23 years of age, he graduated in business economy from Bocconi University, Milan. After graduating, in 1998 Francesco moved to the United States to support the commercial network of importers with whom the Zonin wine firm collaborated at the time . Have on moved permanently to New York, in 1999 he began to actively follow the commercial network of American distributors, from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific. He devoted himself to the development plan for the American Barboursville Vineyards estate in Virginia. Since 1976 this too, as with a further nine estates in Italy, belongs to the family. When he came back to Italy in 2002, backed by all his American experiences, Francesco devoted himself to the domestic market and to put into practice new marketing activities. In 2005 he actively took over once more his own commercial role in Casa Vinicola Zonin’s export department and became responsible for the whole commercial and marketing area.
Despite his increasing activities, Francesco still has time for such enthusiasms as sailing, skiing, travelling, and music. He is married and is father of two children.
